The Role
Moxion Power is looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer to join our team and help us advance the development of our innovative all-electric mobile power and energy storage solutions. Our team collaborates with other software, mechanical, and electrical engineers to specify and design elegant solutions for mission critical components. We are looking for a firmware engineer who is excited to work across our entire stack, loves to learn new things, and likes to take ownership of major components.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop software across the stack from low level drivers to high level linux applications
- Understand complex problems across multiple disciplines and apply software engineering methodology to attack them
- Work with Systems Engineering on defining requirements for products we are developing
- Produce well-articulated design documentation to drive alignment within and across teams
- Collaborate with the cloud applications team on telemetry and remote connections
Skills to be Successful:
- 3+ years experience in industry software development with RTOS and C/C++ development
- Experience with embedded systems design and development and shipping embedded products to customers
- Basic software development workflow processes with git
- Clear and effective written and interpersonal communication skills
- Creative problem solving with limited resources and engineering constraints
- Writing clear and concise documentation
- Taking initiative to solve complex and ambiguous problems
- Learning new technologies and implementing them in complex and critical systems
Nice to Have’s:
- Familiarity with high voltage systems, battery or energy storage systems, electric vehicle systems
- Familiarity or experience working with CAN communication protocol
- IoT system design and development
Compensation Details:
- Compensation Range: $120,000-$220,000
Pay Equity
Moxion is committed to the principle of pay equity – paying employees equitably for substantially similar work. Compensation displayed is a range. Maximum amounts are reserved for those candidates that exceed all experience and background requirements. We reserve the right to offer compensation based on level of experience. Moxion has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay within the San Francisco Bay area. If you live outside that region, the range is subject to change.
Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within the range provided above. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
