Title: Labor & Employment Litigation Practice Assistant

Location: Oakland, CA

Salary: $92-105K/year, depending on experience

Job Responsibilities
• You will be responsible for assisting in drafting and preparation of various legal documents, such as routine notices, filings, and letter preparation. You must know how to do filings in California state courts, as well as federal courts.
• The Legal Assistant also compiles, reviews and organizes documents for meetings, legal work, and filings
• You will also convey routine info to client management regarding legal or contractual issues
• You will also perform legal and factual research, including looking up Court rules
• Assists in the preparation of PowerPoint presentations and supports legal and compliance team in their use of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. You must be an expert at formatting documents.
• You will do a lot of calendaring and scheduling of court dates. You should know how to sync Compulaw with Outlook.
• You will also process time reports and expense reports.
• Establishes and maintains litigation and other files, correspondence, records, certificates and other documents
• The Legal Assistant also provides administrative support such as scheduling meetings, setting up video conference calls, assisting with travel arrangements, and performing other executive administrative functions as needed.

Requirements
• Legal Assistant must possess 5 or more years of litigation experience, including experience working in the Employment & Labor sector
• Paralegal certification/training or some college is a plus.
• Strong experience and expertise with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. You must know how to format Word documents using a Macros package, such as CCC Macros. You must also be able to sync Compulaw and Outlook. You should also be comfortable with iManage.
• You must possess the ability to work independently while managing changing priorities and projects
• You must have experience drafting various legal documents, such as pleadings, and know how to draft TOAs and TOCs. You must also know how to file documents in CA state court as well as federal court.
• You must also have excellent attention to detail, organization and planning, confidentiality and problem solving abilities
