ENGIE North America is searching for an Energy Data Specialist I for our University of Iowa location. ENGIE currently collects real-time data from thousands of process points from the utility and building automation systems on the University of Iowa campus. This information is vital to maintaining efficient operation of the University’s utilities. This position will work under the Utilities Performance Manager to perform monthly utility billing, monthly and quarterly energy reporting and analyses. This position will also be responsible for managing an OSI Soft PI System which collects, stores and presents real-time process data for use by management, engineering, operations, maintenance, finance and capital project related staff members.
What you’ll do:
- Prepare monthly internal billing for utilities provided to campus buildings using EnergyCAP software
- Perform EnergyCAP configuration management such as adding/editing properties, meters, accounts, and billing formulas
- Respond to requests for data and reports from EnergyCAP related to utility billing
- Prepare and review monthly and quarterly utility reports in Excel, including “Appendix G” reports per concession agreement
- Perform Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking using PI and Excel per the concession agreement
- Monitor Performance Standards using PI and Excel per the concession agreement
- Operate and manage real-time process data historian and related tools (OSI Soft PI System). Including: PI point configuration, PI AF database configuration and management, PI Analyses configurations, and PI Event-Frame configurations
- Build data visualizations replicating plant process control displays using PI Vision
- Coordinate with IT staff regarding configuration and management of PI System architecture
- Create reports and analyses in Excel and/or other tools as needed
- Provide data for annual benchmark studies such as Gordian Sightlines
- Work with performance engineer to fulfill requests for utilities data using PI System, Excel and other tools as needed
- Provide supervision to one or more interns
- Other duties as assigned
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s degree from an acredited college or university with a concentration in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline
- Equivalent experience in a similar role, and a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent may be substituted in liue of a degree
- Experience creating tabular and graphical reports from relational database system such as SQL Server
- Prefer experience with utility data systems
- Prefer experience with real-time process data historian such as OSI Soft PI System
- Prefer experience in energy industry or industrial operations or maintenance
- Prefer experience with process visualization tools such as PI Vision, PI ProcessBook or similar
