The Engine Asset Manager (EAM) position is a part of the Global Technical Operations (GTO) Powerplant group which is responsible for Technical oversight and management of Amazon’s fleet of Aircraft. The EAM is a single-threaded owner responsible for the planning, execution, and delivery of engine/Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) maintenance to meet aircraft availability goals. The EAM will apply detailed technical understanding of engines and APU’s to develop maintenance strategies that reduce cost, improve reliability and minimize Turnaround Time (TAT). The EAM will leverage technical expertise of Aircraft Engine Systems, Engine Workscoping, Engine Performance and removal drivers, Engine and Component repairs, Life Limited Parts (LLP), component inspection and off-wing troubleshooting to meet and exceed AIR’s fleet availability goals. The EAM responsibilities include but not limited to supporting the execution of aircraft engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) technical requirements for Amazon Air’s global fleet in collaboration with cross-functional leaders. The EAM will work backwards; starting with customers and stakeholders, define fleet requirements and work to clarify the technical implementation by driving discussions. The EAM will establish milestones and drive sensible deadlines and manage project communications and may serve as the first point of contact for assigned engines/APU.
Key job responsibilities
– Responsible for maintenance planning of assigned Engine/APU fleet utilizing technical knowledge/experience.
– Operational ownership of engine/APU shop visits including removal planning, capacity planning, turnaround time (TAT) tracking and removing barriers that impact them.
– Detailed understanding of engine shop processes and engine shop flow to influence and reduce TAT and shop visit costs.
– Identify cost reduction opportunities and build internal buy in to implement them.
– Leverage technical experience to develop optimal workscope for engines/APU
– Effectively manage “in-service” carrier relationships – liaison with carriers to maintain removal plans and spare engines support.
– Develop, manage and deliver engine/APU shop visit performance metrics
– Maintain technical product line proficiency through continuous education
– Effectively communicate with carrier, maintenance providers and internal stakeholders

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent
– 5+ years Technical Experience in aerospace, airline or MRO industry with systems, design and maintenance focus
– 3+ years of experience with developing maintenance workscopes for engines/APU’s at a leasing, aftermarket, airline, OEM or MRO
– Technical understanding of workscoping practices for engines or APU’s
– Life Limited Parts (LLP) maintenance knowledge including FAA/EASA certification and documentation requirements for LLP’s
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– 5+ years of experience with large category aircraft maintenance, reliability, engineering or fleet management programs
– 5+ years of experience in Airline Powerplant or OEM Engineering teams or Engine Product Support Teams.
– Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings, maintenance manuals and technical information
– Ability to influence and drive change at all levels of organization
– Must be highly proficient in written and oral communications in English and able to produce concise, relevant, documents.
– Airframe or Powerplant license
– Airline operational leadership experience with a 14CFR 121 or 135 operator in line maintenance, heavy maintenance or maintenance control
– 3+ years Airline operational experience
– 3+ years Engine OEM design, repair, overhaul experience with life cycle ownership of engine/fleet type
– Six Sigma Black Belt and/or Lean certified

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $101,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
