Engineering Coordinator – High Speed Rail

Arcadis is seeking an Engineering Coordinator to join our California High-Speed Rail PCM team in Selma, CA to oversee the design activities for the project.

Must be able to work onsite in Selma, CA.

Role description:

The Engineering Coordinator will perform tasks related to contract compliance, project management, technical assessments, engineering solutions, and design oversight. This role seems to be focused on coordinating and ensuring the successful execution of design projects while adhering to contractual requirements.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Perform Due Diligence Check (DDC) reviews of project designs for conformance to Design Criteria and applicable Code Requirements.
  • Facilitate Comment Resolution Meetings for design packages with open/unresolved comments.
  • Track Design-Builder progress on addressing and closing out open comments across design packages.
  • Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) received from the Design-Builder.
  • Perform DDC review of Field Design Changes (FDCs); Coordinate Independent Check Engineer (ICE) Team review of FDCs; and issue Dispositions to Design-Builder.
  • Perform merit review/determination of design-based change order proposals as requested by Change Management team and prepare Merit Review Paper (MRP).
  • Coordinate and Develop Directive Letters (DLs) as requested by PCM team.
  • Research and prepare Findings of Fact documentation to accompany MRPs and DLs.
  • Coordinate and Develop Serial Letters (SLs) as requested by PCM team.
  • Participate in various meetings both Virtually and In-Person as required.
  • Perform periodic field visits to monitor construction progress against approved design packages.
  • Review monthly pay application against known design status.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional-level experience in heavy civil infrastructure projects, with progressively increasing responsibility
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • State of California registration as a Professional Civil Engineer preferred minimum requirement of valid Engineer in Training certification issued by the State of California

Key Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the company, project, and Client.
  • Must have strong computer skills in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
  • Must have knowledge of project management methods, contract management, project scheduling, and reporting
  • Must be well organized with sound judgment and planning

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP Certification

The salary range for this position is $80000 – $120000.
