The Engineering Project Manager Opportunity (VPM)

In this role, you will manage the end-to-end development of different technological solutions used within Veev’s homes, ensuring we hit our aggressive schedule, exceptional quality requirements, and target cost. To be successful in this role, you should exhibit strong project management skills, robust leadership skills, and the ability to work in an ambiguous environment. A background in managing the release of products using Product Life Cycles (PLC), project scheduling, technical-oriented attitude, and hands-on in related industries is required.
What you’ll do at Veev
- Act as the project manager for one or more projects, managing the development of new building blocks and sub-systems used in Veev’s homes. Lead and manage product development using PLC methodology.
- Develop and manage top-down schedules based on the Engineering department’s capacity and with alignment to Veev’s product roadmap.
- Plan and execute the bottom-up project schedules based on technical challenges and inputs from the cross-functional teams.
- Monitor resources to ensure project efficiency and maximize deliverables.
- Escalate issues, as necessary, that introduce high risk to the project work plan.
- Lead status meetings and report to leadership clear milestones, risks and mitigations, bottlenecks, tasks completion, and more.
- Manage communications between the different teams such as Product, Engineering, supply chain, manufacturing engineering, logistics, and B&I.
- Enforce best practices and development processes in a quickly changing and dynamic environment.
- Identify constraints, dependencies, risks/issues to deliver planned deliverables on time, within scope, and high quality.
- Identify resources needed and work closely with team leads to maintain full visibility of multiple projects, prioritizing and addressing resource gaps efficiently.
Requirements, Knowledge, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years experience as a Project Manager/Equivalent, managing product development from inception to production.
- Familiarity with Product Life Cycle methodology in product development.
- Previous start-up experience.
- Strong planning and scheduling skills.
- Experience in driving new development of new products/processes/technologies.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and management.
- Experience building relationships and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in jumping in and driving projects from red to green.
- Leading teams in a technical/engineering environment.
Nice to Haves – Advantages
- Experience in the prefab construction industry
- Familiarity with CAD, CAM systems, and processes
- Familiarity with BIM360, Revit, Solid Works, or Arena PLM
- Knowledgeable with MS Project, Monday.com project management tools
- Experience working with international team members
Compensation
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with the final offer amount dependent on skills, education, experience, and location, is $145,000 – $160,000 annually for Hayward, CA, and surrounding areas. This role is also eligible for stock options and various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, flexible paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
