About This Role:
The Office of Data, Assessment and Institutional Research is the steward of both the current (SQL Server) and the new cloud (Snowflake) data warehouse. This position is responsible for working with the data warehouse team, business intelligence and analytics team and data steward teams in development and implementation of transformation logic and data pipelines. This position will be primarily dedicated for the development of the cloud data warehouse.

Worksite Options:
This position is eligible for hybrid and/or remote worksite. Work may be performed on employer premises, designated assignment location and/or performed fully in a remote capacity. An employee who is working remotely must reside within the United States in order to comply with all federal and state laws, filings, or tax requirements.
On-site employment is preferred and hybrid work schedules are offered to all staff. At the discretion of the unit leader and to meet staffing needs, employees may be offered 100% remote work arrangements. 100% remote employees will typically be required to travel to the Manhattan campus 1-2 times during each of the fall and spring semesters for 2-5 business days. If the travel distance exceeds a 60-mile radius to the campus, the office will reimburse up to $500 travel related costs and provide lodging at the university guest housing facility.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- Three or more years of relevant experience, including some combination of the following:
- Data Integration concepts and strategies: ETL, EL-T, Data Warehousing, event-based processing
- Experience in APIs, streaming data services, and/or message queue development
- Database knowledge in SQL, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
- Demonstrated ability to include a combination of the following:
- Mentoring and leading by example
- Excellent oral and written and communication skills
- Critical thinking ability
- Excellent logical, analytical, and strong problem-solving capacity
- Able to find root causes of problems and quickly determine efficient solutions
- Personable and able to work in a team environment and respectfully interact with technical and nontechnical users
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Higher Education
- Proven experience in On-Premise, Cloud and Hybrid environments
- Working with ERP data and Reporting Systems/BI
- Experience with Informatica IICS and/or other cloud-based integration solutions
- Ability to create and review data models
- Clear understanding of software development life cycle phases and practices

$78,359.00 – $103,818.00
