Entry Level Software Developer

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a driven Entry level Software Engineer to develop TT&C and Satellite Mission Management and Scheduling software in support of our mission critical customers and the OS/COMET COTS software product.

The Entry level Software Engineer will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

  • Research, design, and development of computer software systems, including requirement analysis, design, development, and test of software products.
  • Requires the application of the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
  • Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
  • Utilizes software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects and ability to handle routine tasks. Solves problems of moderate scope/complexity.

**This role allows for 100% remote work**

**10% travel may be required based on customer needs**

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance. In order to obtain a security clearance, you must be a US Citizen
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related studies with zero years of experience, or HS degree with six (6) years of experience
  • Experience with:
    • Designing and developing software utilizing Java/C/C++
    • Software development methodologies and life cycles
    • Experience with Linux, preferably RHEL 7.x/8.x
    • Familiarity with the Agile Product Development Cycle
  • Demonstrates a strong grasp of debugging skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active/Current Security Clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree with two (2) years of experience, or HS degree with eight (8) years of experience
  • Experience with the Amazon Web Services cloud architecture and tools associated with cloud development and security
  • Active involvement in the peer-review process, to include providing thorough code reviews and receiving critical feedback
  • Client-side development using HTML5, JavaScript, Python, and CSS3
  • Experience with Server-side development through REST
  • Working knowledge of gRPC endpoints and NATS for micro-service communication as well as containerization

Target Salary Range

$51,000 – $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
