Moog is looking for an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to manage EHS compliance activities for our aerospace manufacturing plant in Torrance, CA (Los Angeles area). In this role, you will coordinate efforts with a variety of management, process owners, and employees working across the site. You will make significant systems-level compliance decisions and ensure that the management systems are appropriate and successfully meeting the regulatory, corporate and customer safety requirements. You will also manage a team of 4 EHS Engineers. This role offers the opportunity to have an impact on Environmental, Health and Safety at a global company.

As a Site EHS Manager, you will…
- Manage and ensure that Federal and State EHS regulations applicable to the site are met.
- Develop, manage and implement site specific EHS policies and training programs to ensure compliance with the Site, Business Group and Corporate EHS requirements.
- Environmental programs may include the collection and calculation of all environmental data; create, finalize and submit regulatory reports; monitor process owners to ensure the compliance procedures associated with regulatory reports are being implemented and maintained. Example data: biological, radiation, chemical, noise, exhaust systems, emissions, waste characteristics, etc.
- Safety programs may include LOTO, confined space, industrial hygiene, respiratory protection, PPE, hearing conservation, blood borne pathogens, mobile equipment (PIT), machine guarding, hazardous energy control, chemical safety.
- Implement, complete and take action to help ensure regulatory permit requirements, reporting data and environmental management system procedures are continuously monitored and updated as changes occur at the site to maintain compliance. Participate in the use and management of internal audit systems.
- Partner with all functional managers /supervisors on site to plan and implement regulatory requirements.
- Lead role in representing the site during any compliance audits, both internal and external. Assure audit findings are properly responded to, followed up on and corrected in a timely fashion.
- Coordinate and manage the Sites’ emergency planning; including being available 24/7 for responding to site EHS emergencies. This includes being the site’s lead emergency coordinator in emergencies involving hazardous materials releases or other safety impacting emergencies.
- Provide EHS support to Program Management and Engineering as required to support customer contract terms and conditions. Tasks may require creation of additional program specific hazardous materials management programs or implementation of industry specific certification programs.
- Manage a team of EHS Engineers (2 Safety and 2 Environmental)
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot equipment for improving EHS aspects/impacts.
- Develop and implement technologies that can provide the site with operational efficiencies which are also improving EHS within the workplace.
Minimum Qualifications…
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 10+ years of experience implementing and managing EHS programs
- 5+ years of EHS experience in a Manufacturing Plant environment
- This position requires access to United States export-controlled information.
Preferred Qualifications Include…
- Prefer that the bachelor’s degree is in EHS, Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or other technical discipline
- 5+ years of experience supervising/leading an EHS team
- Experience managing chemicals and waste; experience responding to, cleaning, and reporting chemical spills
- Experience determining hazardous materials transportation regulations requirements
- Environmental compliance experience within the SCAQMD area
- Environmental compliance experience in all areas: air, water, waste
- Experience working with regulatory agencies: SCAQMD, LA County Sanitation, DTSC, CUPA, DOT
- Experience implementing and managing Safety Programs such as Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), confined space, industrial hygiene, respiratory protection, PPE, hearing conservation, bloodborne pathogens, mobile equipment (PIT), machine guarding, hazardous energy control, chemical safety.
- Project Management experience
- Leadership Experience with OHSAS 18001 (or ISO 45001) and ISO 14001
- Industrial Hygiene experience
- Experience with internal and regulatory agency audits
- Ability to influence and to be a change agent

California Residents: Pay range for this opportunity is $115,000 – $165,000, annually.
