This position is part of the Get the Lead Out Of Schools (GLOS) Program charged with assisting Missouri schools in implementing and complying with the Get the Lead Out of School Drinking Water Act to help reduce children’s exposure to lead. The purpose of the position is to provide drinking water technical assistance to school districts in support of the GLOS requirements. This position is a part of the Healthy Drinking Water Unit in the Bureau of Environmental Epidemiology.
What you’ll do:
- Provide technical and compliance assistance regarding drinking water, the GLOS and regulations to the general public and regulated community.
- Coordinate with subject matter experts and applicable stakeholders to promote successful implementation of project(s).
- Conduct drinking water research and collect data for planning and evaluating a program.
- Attend professional and technical development trainings.
- Conduct other duties as assigned including but not limited to assisting with managing long-term technical GLOS compliance at MO schools.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and serve as the lead technical water expert when required to answer inquiries or brief management.
All you need for success:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 or more years of relevant experience. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
- A high level of commitment, and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
