Our continued growth has created an immediate need for a Sustainability Specialist or Environmental Project Manager located in Albany, NY.
The client for this project is for the Office of General Services.
Responsibilities
- Managing environmental project work across D&C and could be a Planner, Engineer, Architect to meet the anticipated influx of projects related to planning, studies, and integration of resilient and sustainable solutions
- Provide support to all OGS D&C client agencies with planning, contracting, implementing, and executing programs and projects relating to resiliency and sustainability.
- Maintain strong relationships with project team, and all divisions within OGS.
- Oversee project or consultant teams as they manage project, conduct research, data gathering, mapping and analysis.
- Communicate effectively, identify, and mitigate risks and assure that decisions are made timely to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Provide suggestions and recommendations to improve projects or processes that will positively impact sustainability related initiatives.
Qualifications
- Professional experience in project management or the establishment of environmental programs; preparing, implementing or reviewing plans, projects, regulations or environmental impact statements; preparing sustainability or resiliency materials involving environmental matters; or preparing environmental analysis of resilient or sustainable issues.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience managing environmental projects or studies, or in design or construction involving multiple phases of large-scale building/rehabilitation projects that implement sustainable solutions.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a role of Project Manager responsible for large-scale projects valued above $10 million, with an extensive knowledge of all facets of construction and construction documents
- A master’s degree or higher in a qualifying field may substitute for one year of the required experience. Envision, Well Building or LEED certification is a plus.
