Description
This position assists the Weatherization Assistance Program with various aspects of grant administration and implementation
Examples of Work
• Preparation of documentation pertinent to grant administration activities such as grant requirements, grant awards or grant requests.
• Reviewing work activity data and examining results to recommend policy and/or procedure changes to improve operational effectiveness.
• Implementing program-administrative services to provide the means for agency staff to determine the effectiveness of operations and/or associated problems.
• Contacts NeWAP sub-grantees to obtain/provide operational assistance or to relay/verify information.
• Assist with collecting annual client consumption evaluation utility release forms and copies of energy bills for each of the evaluation homes.
• Review and evaluate quarterly reports with applicable guidelines. Provide follow-up, maintain electronic and/or paper files and recommend approval of reports.
• Initiate enforcement of rules and regulation and the terms and conditions related to the reviewing grants and grantee quarterly reports.
• Represent the agency at meetings, seminars, and conferences.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in the physical sciences, natural sciences, environmental science, geology, biology, agronomy, civil engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, hydrology, community and regional planning, or a related field. Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic data gathering and record keeping techniques; mathematics for computing measurements; methods, procedures, and purposes of investigation and analysis; basic procedures used in sampling and related data collection; methods, procedures and purpose of investigation and analysis.
Skill In: listening to and understanding information and/or instructions received to perform assigned tasks. interpret and apply technical information, standards, regulations, and laws.
Ability To: communicate effectively both orally and in writing; collect, organize and present information accurately; learn and apply regulations, department policies and State statutes; gather, compile and evaluate a wide range of information from varied sources; assess field situations and make on-the-spot judgments; organize and coordinate a wide range of activities within a program area; establish and maintain effective working relationships with public and private officials, and the general public
