Position Overview:
This role serves as a stepping stone towards the Project Manager role with CEG’s client, a reputable consulting firm. It involves close collaboration with experienced Project Managers to acquire the necessary expertise. Responsibilities encompass various aspects of project management, including cost analysis, scope planning, health and safety protocols, subcontractor coordination, client assistance, resource delegation, and familiarization with specialized services. The position involves engagement with diverse environmental cleanup programs at both state and federal levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with technical personnel as directed by higher-level managers.
Assist in formulating project budgets and scopes under the guidance of senior management.
Contribute to project initiation meetings and the development of field directives.
Facilitate client communication as delegated by higher-level managers.
Support project-related tasks such as contractor scheduling and subcontractor identification.
Develop Health and Safety Plans (HASPs) in adherence to guidelines.
Conduct regulatory and technical investigations for projects.
Participate in research related to project submissions.
Aid in refining project descriptions and updating professional profiles.
Review internal webinars to gain insight into the organization’s operational scope.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, chemistry, engineering, or related field.
- 1 – 2 years of experience in the field of environmental consulting.
- OSHA Hazwoper 40 Hour Certification is advantageous.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record and ability to operate vehicles securely.
Job Environment:
This role entails occasional travel to client sites, predominantly within the state and nearby states, occasionally leading to extended workdays and overnight stays. Some long-distance travel, including air travel, may be required. The work balance comprises 75% office-based tasks and 25% field/site visit activities, which may involve environmental hazards associated with the field.
