Role description:

Arcadis is seeking an Environmental Task Manager with a background as an Environmental Engineer to join our team in Houston, TX.

This is a position for a dynamic individual looking for career growth in environmental consulting within the environmental remediation market. This full-time position will help manage environmental remediation projects with oversight from senior managers and technical experts. The ideal candidate will possess great attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work independently, and be capable of working as a productive member of a high-performance team.

Role accountabilities:

Office responsibilities may include the following:

  • Task Managers with managing scope, schedule, and budget for tasks including system maintenance, groundwater sampling, well installation/ abandonment, and other field work
  • Evaluate data to support modification and optimize post-remedy long-term-monitoring programs
  • Technical report writing and review
  • Coordinate work schedules with Arcadis staff and subcontractors
  • Health and safety stewardship, including local field visits

Field activities may include the following:

  • Soil, groundwater, and air sampling in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures
  • Subcontractor oversight
  • Use a variety of specialized equipment or techniques to perform duties, acting as a project resource to support the successful delivery of specific outputs individually or as part of a team

While this position is predominantly office based the candidate should expect to spend approximately 10-30% of their time in the field. Candidates must have a good driving record, be willing to work outside for extended periods. Field work may be performed at project sites with environmental media (e.g., soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, etc.) that has been impacted with hazardous substances and/or hazardous wastes. Candidates must also be able to meet the physical demands associated with performing field work, including lifting heavy equipment, working in a standing position for extended periods of time, etc.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Geology or Environmental Science
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER (8-hour annual refresher as applicable)

The salary range for this position is $65,790- $98,685.
