ERP Specialist

The ERP Specialist monitors and maintains Access Laser’s ERP system (Global Shop Solutions). This is an individual contributor role, reporting to the IT/Special Projects Manager and supporting the business from a systems architecture and metrics reporting position.

On a daily basis you will:

  • Play a critical role ensuring Global Shop Solutions (GSS) ERP system is transacting properly and providing the necessary metrics for the business to operate
  • Support cross-functional department team members and ERP end-users in resolving problems and answer questions with minimal supervision
  • Develop and maintain fields, views, reports, dashboards, and other objects in the GSS ERP system to produce business insights for data-driven decisions
  • Drive maintenance, refinement, and optimization of the GSS ERP system
  • Troubleshoot and resolve ERP-related system bugs/outages and data issues
  • Monitor ERP transactions and integration points with connected systems to ensure data integrity
  • Create ERP user accounts and configure user security permissions
  • Collaborate with department leads to align internal processes with GSS ERP system functionality
  • Provide ERP and GSS expertise as part of post-Go-Live projects

Other important duties:

  • Proactively identify ERP business needs and potential risk areas to be addressed
  • Partner with all users to support their overall understanding and comfort with the GSS ERP system and to support the company’s long-term ERP needs
  • Stay closely connected with GSS service team to quickly escalate system outages and issues
  • Constant tending to the GSS ERP system with updates/patches to keep the system up-to-date
  • Validate evolving business needs with team members and end-users to identify supplemental functionality, as applicable (e.g., ARC projects)
  • Develop and maintain Access Laser specific GSS ERP system training documentation (e.g., work instructions, quick reference guides, training manuals, demo videos, etc.)
  • Coordinate with department leads to deliver GSS ERP system awareness and end-user training
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience: Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of ERP experience
  • 2+ years in manufacturing industry, high tech, high mix, low volume
  • Functional knowledge of data management and data governance
  • Significant experience building ERP objects (e.g., dashboards and reports)
  • Demonstrated knowledge with enterprise reporting suite (e.g., Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, or similar)
  • Strong proficiency with writing and running queries
  • Intermediate to advance Excel skills
  • Understanding of quote-to-cash process and business process mapping
  • Detail oriented and excellent organizational, time, and stress management skills
  • Ability to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and clearly communicate status in a concise and timely manner
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to expand knowledge and learn different technologies and solutions
  • Ability to develop rapport and earn trust fostering positive working relationships with team members

Added Advantage:

  • Experience with Global Shop Solutions (GSS) ERP
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio
  • Understanding of accounting principles (e.g., AR/AP, GL, debits/credits, and ERP financial impacts)
  • Knowledge of ERP industry best practice approaches and standards
