Position Description:

CGI has an immediate need for an ESRI Technical Engineer/SME to join our financial services team in Columbia, SC; Belton, TX or Reston, VA. Due to the current COVID-19 status, candidates will not be required to work within the physical work location at this time. When COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, they will be required to be located within the proximity of the assigned CGI location.

The ESRI Technical Engineer/SME with specialized expertise in the implementation of ESRI ArcGIS COTS software suite in on-prem and on-cloud AWS(preferred). The ESRI Technical SME will play a key role in overseeing ESRI solutions development, ensuring performance and reliability of the solution and related products, and managing the resolution of defects and operational issues.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Serve as subject matter expert in the ArcGIS platform to other staff and the client
• Evaluate end user needs, translate business requirements to technical design in collaboration with business and product owners
• Leverage existing applications to architect well designed structures that will grow and scale
• Create project and application architecture deliverables that are consistent with architecture principles, standards, methodologies, and best practices
• Estimate tasks, monitor progress, proactively mitigate risk, ensure complete documentation, and report status

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• Hands on experience on AWS services – S3, CloudWatch, EC2, EMR and lambda
• 7+ years of experience in systems development including 5 + years of specific technical experience in architecture, development, and administration of mapping / geospatial software solutions and services using ESRI software including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Runtime, and their associated APIs or interfaces
• 5+ years of experience with GIS scripting languages such as Python
• 5+ years of experience working with Oracle data structures as it relates to ESRI tools
• 5+ years of experience working with mapping frameworks such as MapInfo, web mapping APIs such as Google Maps, Bing Maps, OpenStreetMap, and JavaScript libraries such as Leaflet and Open Layers
• Deep Understanding of cartographic concepts and spatial data formats such as Shapefiles etc.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or technical or business discipline
• 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to: skill set level; experience and training; and licensure and certifications. CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $67,200.00 – $146,900.00.
