Operations Manager, New England Division

Competitive applicants will have experience working live running events such as marathons, 5Ks, and 10Ks and managing the equipment and supplies needed to produce each event. Travel will be required primarily within the New England region and preference is given to those who can adapt and work well with others in a fast-paced environment. The Operations Manager will oversee all equipment and supplies at the Scarborough, ME warehouse. This is a warehouse and office-based position.

Base Salary: $45-$55k/annually

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Travel to all New England Division events to assist in packing, setup, and execution of events.
  • Establishing the vision for existing events in conjunction with the Operations team and Event Operations Director of the New England Division.
  • Developing processes that contribute to the financial goals of the organization and overseeing established event budgets.
  • Conduct vendor and contractor outreach, quote analysis and negotiation in coordination with the Operations team, and ensuring timely and accurate payment/tracking of vendors.
  • Communicating with the Operations team to identify outstanding action items needed to produce the event and coordinating the successful execution of those items.
  • Assist in managing on-event staff and contractors by effectively communicating event plans and timelines to ensure a successful event.
  • Assist in the setup of registration and packet pickup. Must be able to develop an understanding of the EnMotive event management software.
  • Assist with community outreach; which includes resident and business notifications and posting race notifications along the courses.
  • Accountability for, servicing, and cleaning of all event related equipment.
  • Oversee shipments of virtual gear, awards, event packets, and equipment.
  • Must be based in the greater Portland metropolitan area.

  • Ability to hold oneself accountable and an aptitude for prioritizing multiple projects
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical mindset and approach to managing projects and problem solving
  • Ability to forge interdepartmental relationships and build a strong team atmosphere
  • Passionate and enthusiastic for the event industry
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must be willing to learn how to operate a forklift and drive a box truck.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 40 lbs.
