Job Description:
BEST Crowd Management is seeking an experienced and dedicated Event Staff Supervisor to join our team at Georgia Tech. As an Event Staff Supervisor, you will oversee the event staff and security operations during events, ensuring the safety and security of attendees, staff, and property.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision: Provide leadership and guidance to a team of event staff, ensuring they are well-trained, motivated, adhering to security protocols and procedures, and provide timely guidance to assigned staff in an active work environment while adhering to protocols and procedures.
- Team Management: Assign event staff to specific posts and duties, ensuring adequate coverage and optimal deployment of resources. Conduct regular briefings and debriefings to communicate event details, expectations, and address any concerns.
- Security Operations: Oversee security operations during events, including monitoring access points, conducting identification checks, supervising patrols, and promptly responding to potential security threats or incidents.
- Emergency Response: Ensure employees are trained in emergency response procedures and that they can effectively handle emergency situations, such as evacuations, medical incidents, or disturbances.
- Customer Service: Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by providing assistance and information to attendees, addressing their concerns, and resolving any issues or conflicts that may arise.
- Communication: Maintain clear and open lines of communication with event organizers, Joe Davis staff, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and information flow.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in event staff, with previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Availability: Must be able to work 95% of home athletic events.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, attendees, and other stakeholders.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and the use of security equipment such as metal detectors and surveillance cameras.
- Professionalism: Ability to remain calm, composed, and professional in high-pressure situations, and effectively handle conflicts or challenging individuals.
- Physical Fitness: Physical fitness and the ability to stand for long periods of time. Responsibilities may include outdoor positions.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work part-time hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
- Background Check: Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen to ensure the safety of our team and attendees.
