execution, the team will be experts at synthesizing client and internal intelligence to successfully

deliver high performing programs and events.

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Events Director, Client Success, the Associate Director, Connection leader be

responsible for fostering networking consultation and onsite facilitation for select, presenting event

sponsors across Dow Jones’ custom and flagship events. The associate director will work closely

with the Director and VP on managing sponsor networking strategies and evolving the sponsor

offering to ultimately deliver against event KPIs.

The ideal Connection Leader candidate is poised and articulate, highly organized, an excellent

multitasker, a skilled client communicator, solution oriented, and collaborative.

Responsibilities:
• Serve as the WSJ BG event sponsorship connection leader, embedded in the Event Activation

team, working cross functionally to advise clients on achieving successful business connections.
• Work cross functionally to design, activate, and iterate on embedded networking moments at

newsled Live Journalism events.
• Build credibility and trust in the value of events for sponsorship executives, leading to valuable

conversations, and time tested renewing partnerships.
• Investigate and iterate data sources to be leveraged to create a well informed event dossier,

identifying business relevant information and capturing internal DJ knowledge to share with

clients
• Facilitate and advise clients pre-event in the form of consultatory meetings, honing their sales

side positioning for the specific event audience and/or topic matter.
• Develop pre-event dossiers to educate event sponsors on attendee job and company profile.
• Responsible for working closely with Event Marketing and MMS leadership teams to ensure that

high value registrations are converted to general event attendees and networking session

participants.
• Attend events, supporting onsite networking facilitation in conjunction with DJ leaders and

executives.
• Support and optimize onsite technological capabilities to ensure successful sponsor networking

across presenting, supporting, and contributing sponsorships
• Research and identify technologies and tools to facilitate interaction between attendees and

sponsors for both virtual and in person events
• Nurtures post-event conversations, developing high quality communications on the behalf of

sponsors.
• Build deep trusted relationships/partnerships with sponsorship decision-makers and make sure

they achieve their lead generation goals

Qualifications:
• You will need to demonstrate brand passion, business acumen, commercial awareness, with the

ability to build excellent stakeholder relationships
• Have brilliant writing, communication and influencing skills
• 7+ years’ experience working across all marketing disciplines as well as extensive passion for

sponsorship marketing and events
• Entrepreneurial attitude, proactive and tenacity to always look for better ways
• Demonstrate strategic ability and commercial thinking, balanced with a can-do, roll your sleeves

up attitude
• Insight driven, making decisions rooted in customer benefit and commercial understanding

Pay Range: $65,000 – $200,000
