The Executive Director, ERC Integrated Marketing will shape and execute strategies to identify, assess, and support effective management of risks presented by the Integrated Marketing function across US therapeutic areas and products to ensure execution of such strategies is in compliance with applicable NPC policies, procedures and CIA requirements. This individual will drive clarity in risk assessment in early concept discussions of novel and complex marketing strategies (e.g. omnichannel engagement, use of dynamic content, social media, peer to peer education) and effective risk mitigation when they are implemented. The ideal candidate is passionate about both enabling compliant marketing strategies and driving excellence in execution of ERC counseling for marketing strategies.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Shape and clarify US Healthcare Compliance Policy applicable to Integrated Marketing domains (e.g. HCP and patient strategies, market research) that impact all US affiliates (Innovative Medicines and Novartis Gene Therapies).
• Drive consistency and clarity in how ERC Integrated Marketing Advisors will assess risk in early concept discussions, discuss risk with business owners to achieve an aligned understanding, provide clear and actionable ERC advice on how to effectively mitigate such risks upon implementation of the strategy, evaluate effectiveness of risk mitigation and document key milestones throughout the process, whether as part of a pilot to test and validate the strategy or across multiple TAs/products at scale.
• Effectively engage with key Integrated Marketing leadership teams to ensure they have a holistic view of ERC risks in their teams (key watch areas, what’s going well, etc.) and collaborate to implement strategies to address key or emerging risks.
• Proactively monitor evolving US healthcare environment, enforcement trends and compliance programs of other pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device companies, analyze with deep understanding of marketing strategies and applicable ERC policies to identify and share insights within ERC.
• Lead and develop the ERC Integrated Marketing Advisors (team of ~ 3 FTEs) that provide specialized ERC guidance to marketing domains with high and/or emerging risks across TAs and products (e.g. omnichannel engagement, use of dynamic content, social media).
• Be a knowledge expert related to Novartis healthcare compliance policies, procedures and CIA requirements and how they apply to associates’ roles and responsibilities throughout of the US organization.
• Collaborate with other ERC stakeholders (e.g. Risk Management Oversight, Operational Controls, CIA) to share anticipated innovative or complex marketing strategies, related risks and ERC guidance. Develop aligned approaches to Investigations, Monitoring and other ERC activities needed to address risks presented by such strategies.
• Engage with Therapeutic Area General Manager and related cross-functional leaders to ensure a holistic view of risks across the strategies leveraged for the assigned therapeutic area (key watch areas, what’s going well, etc.). Ensure clear and actionable ERC guidance is provided or seamless transition to the appropriate ERC stakeholder.
This is a US based position. No international relocation will be provided for this position.
The ideal location for this role is the East Hanover site but remote work may be possible (there may be some exceptions based on legal entity registration). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. If associate is remote, all home office expenses and any travel/lodging to specific site for periodic live meetings will be at the employee’s expense. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager. This position will require 10-20% travel.

Minimum Requirements
What you’ll bring to the role:
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree is required in relevant area
• 10+ years in pharmaceutical, medical device or biotech companies; consulting, compliance or legal counseling of pharmaceutical or biotech companies; or combination thereof, including 3+ years in or counseling Marketing function
• 5+ years in compliance, legal or regulatory counseling for pharmaceutical, medical device or biotech companies
Preferred:
• MBA or JD

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $222,400 and $333,600/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/22 through 12/31/22, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period.
