We’re looking for an Experience Operations Director to establish a strategic org design and operating model which enables an industry-leading product design practice to support product design, services, innovation, and transformation initiatives. You’ll leverage operational and communication skills as your superpower to drive efficiency and connectivity across product teams and cross-functional partners. A large part of this position will be articulating the value of design thinking and its ability to transform business, products, and services at scale that deliver distinctively better experiences.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Aligning leadership priorities to work plans that ensure the delivery of quality outputs and maintain a generative, creative culture
  • Make sure that the processes related to design / product activities run smoothly
  • Build collaboration models between designers, research, product management, development, marketing, strategy, recruiting, etc.
  • Take care of any communication, planning, briefing, and quality issues concerning major product projects and activities
  • Champion and support cross-team collaboration, processes, and cultivate team growth
  • Facilitating prioritization, road mapping, identifying & tracking milestones, managing risk
  • Articulating standards for tools and processes
  • Ensuring the team has the people and resources it needs

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 8+ years of professional experience in design process
  • Experience managing UX designer teams and other creative professionals
  • Understanding and advocation of design methods and thinking
  • Solid managerial and influencing skills to make sure projects deliver as planned
  • Deep understanding of product and design practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in design
  • Experience in a design or program operations role
  • Experience working in banking or a financial institution
  • Experience in working within or for large organizations
  • Understanding of healthcare and insurance
  • NYC residence

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington residents is $118,000 to $226,800. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
