Position Title: Experience Designer I

EA SPORTS Mobile is a division of EA SPORTS dedicated to creating high-quality mobile sports games connected to some of the world’s biggest gaming franchises, including EA SPORTS FIFA and EA SPORTS MADDEN NFL.

What you will do:

  • Help establish product design principles, processes, and standards to ensure we build engaging game feature experiences that meet the expectations of our players
  • Advocate and be responsible for user experience, product consistency, and design excellence in 1 to 2 major areas of the product
  • Understand and translate the established vision and goals of the product into applicable deliverables and long-term strategies to meet those needs
  • Create user stories, concept sketches, experience storyboards, high fidelity designs, and rapid prototypes for game features. Depending on the complexity of the game feature, this could mean being more hands-on or leading a group of designers to meet the requirements.
  • Collaborate with our UX Research Team to identify areas of opportunity and uncover player needs
  • Ensure that design solutions are practical to build from an engineering and scope perspective
  • Organize meetings with design and product leadership to guide progress against goals and establish clear next steps
  • Participate in sharing constructive feedback in design reviews based on product goals
  • Articulate rationale for design decisions across all levels in the organization

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of progressive responsibility in product design or user experience design roles
  • Expert capabilities in Interaction Design, Prototyping and Visual Design (For Console, PC or Mobile)
  • Experience presenting/pitching work to your team
  • Well versed in facilitation techniques that allow groups to build clarity and understanding
  • A portfolio of work that showcases relevant work that contains well thought out process and excellent craft execution
  • You are experienced in Figma and the Adobe Suite
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Human-Computer Interaction, UX/UI/Design Diploma or Degree, or a related area
  • You will report to the Director of Experience Design

Bonus

  • Experience designing features on a AAA game
  • Experience with the full development lifecycle (shipped multiple products)

US Compensation and Benefits

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

BASE SALARY RANGES
• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):
° $90,550 – $137,700
• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):
° $86,150 – $137,700
• New Jersey (depending on location e.g. Jersey City vs. Trenton):
° $86,150 – $137,700
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
° $86,150 – $126,700
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
° $86,150 – $126,700

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby (following 1 year of service), medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
