Come join an exciting Data Analytics team in performing complex data analysis of aviation data as an Experienced Enterprise Safety Data Analytics Engineer in Everett, WA.

As modern aircraft produce increasing amounts of data in operations and maintenance, analytics is required to transform that data into actionable insight for Boeing’s engineering and business teams. The ideal Data Analytics Engineer will have knowledge in fields such as data engineering, developing system architectures and experience with developing customer-oriented reports and visualizations. These skills will be used to coordinate with other Boeing engineering teams, Airline stakeholders and other analytics teams in the effort to develop data-driven solutions for the measurement, characterization and analysis of airline operational safety.

As a member of the Enterprise Safety Data Analytics team, you will collaborate with other data scientists and data engineers to analyze data, perform data/feature engineering work, engage with customers and assist in the growth of a key focus area for Boeing engineering in Safety Analytics. This data analytics is partnered with other analytics organizations across the Enterprise to focus on identifying and solving critical safety needs utilizing in-service data and insights.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite in Everett, WA. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions
  • Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces
  • Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture
  • Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success
  • Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
  • Resolves cross-functional technical issues

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 3+ years of experience working with Data Analytics
  • Experience leading/working on Agile teams.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 2+ years’ work experience or relevant coursework training machine learning models in a cloud computing environment such as: AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, etc.
  • Familiarity with the safety data ecosystem related to product safety
  • Strong airplane technical knowledge, Engineering Liaison background a plus
  • Some familiarity and background with the art of what is possible using IT tools and visualization techniques
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse engineering teams across the enterprise
  • Good organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adjust priorities to multiple demands and unanticipated events
  • Highly motivated and must work well in a team environment
  • The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Intrinsic aptitude for taking initiative, leading cross functional teams and complex projects
  • Ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities to ensure they are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner

Typical Education/Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Applicable and appropriate educational/certification credentials from an accredited institution and/or equivalent experience is required.

Summary Pay Range: $104,550 – $141,450
