Facilities Assistant (6 mo. Fixed Term)

The University of Southern California (USC) Leonard Davis School of Gerontology is looking for a Facilities Assistant to join our team. This role is responsible for assisting the Business Office with the day-to-day management of facilities and administrative duties as needed for the office. This position is a 6-month fixed-term position.

Reporting directly to the Senior Business office the Facilities Assistant will work in collaboration with the members of the Business Office to ensure all facilities work orders are completed. Will provide administrative support as needed and ensure all requests are completed in a timely manner. Assists in the day-to-day management of facilities. Prepares and follows through on work orders. Conducts on-site investigations to determine work status and compliance with safety regulations.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently with a sense of urgency, and time management with strong attention to detail. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Knowledge of and experience working in higher education is preferred. Experience with Workday is a plus.

Responsibilities include:

  • Processing work orders for all facilities requests
  • Ordering of supplies
  • Providing key/access to Gero members
  • Manage the main calendar for Business Office
  • Calendaring for School meeting spaces/room reservations
  • Answering the main phone line
  • Making Parking Reservations
  • Electric cart maintenance
  • Sorting of mail daily
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

This is a non-exempt position with work expected to be fully on-site. The schedule would be Monday-Friday, however, may be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.

The hourly rate range for this position is $22.32 – $24.03.
