Facilities Maintenance /Shipping and Receiving Technician

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Facilities Maintenance, Shipping, and Receiving Technician in Bellevue, NE to support programs and Peraton facility requirements. The position’s responsibilities include shipping, receiving, stocking, distributing materials, tools, equipment, and products in accordance with Peraton policy and best commercial practices. Heavy and bulky items may require the operation and use of a fork-lift and/or pallet jack. Position responsibilities also include conducting physical inventories and assisting the Material Planning/Logistics Supervisor and providing facilities support services in coordination with the landlord. Government shipping and established Special Packaging Instructions and /or special handling instructions will be used as required.

The Facilities Maintenance/Shipping and Receiving Technician is responsible for the following duties:

  • Loads and unloads trucks and engages with vendors and drivers.
  • Transports materials and items from receiving dock to storage or other designated areas by hand, dolly, fork-lift, or pallet jack.
  • Offloads pallets, crates and other containers using hand tools.
  • Collaborates and communicates with the Material Manager, Engineers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
  • Schedules and prepares CONUS/OCONUS, Fed Ex, UPS, Polaris, etc. shipments for all outgoing/returning crates, boxes, and envelopes.
  • Successfully prepares and records weight and dimensions on packages for shipment in tracking tool (MASTWIP).
  • Secures loads to the pallet jack, cart, or forklift before transport to ensure safety.
  • Uses a forklift to load, unload, ship and receive warehouse items.
  • Oversees building and grounds maintenance; coordinates with building owner to ensure the facility is clean and maintained according to company policy and procedures.
  • Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly.
  • Prepare offices for new employees, assist in moves and rearrangement of office furniture.
  • Schedules and stages paper shredding, media/hard drive destruction and film destruction with selected vendors.
  • Performs routine and monthly inspections of the facility and conducts quarterly building maintenance inspections per Peraton policy and checklists.
  • Assist with annual material Inventories of program and government furnished equipment per inventory procedures.
  • Maintains work area in a clean & safe condition.
  • Support manufacturing and assembly tasks as requested.
  • Deploy to customer sites to assist with rack and cable installations as tasked.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

REQUIRE EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma and 6 years of related experience or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be a qualified forklift operator.
  • Must be able to:
    • lift up to 50lbs.
    • work in a team environment and execute tasks on time.
    • perform with a high a degree of accuracy, efficiency and proficiency and be able to perform all tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Position may require travel.
  • Must be a U.S Citizen capable of obtaining and maintaining a DOC Public Trust.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Well organized, detail oriented, have excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Prior facilities maintenance experience.

Target Salary Range

$39,000 – $62,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
