Description

Maintain a wide range of building equipment and components, vehicles and tools related to the assigned area of responsibility, routine preventive maintenance functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other important responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following.

  • Assists in the preparation of a preventive maintenance program. Assists in data input and maintaining accurate records on facilities maintenance programs and projects.
  • Maintain a wide range of facilities, equipment and tools related to the assigned area of responsibility; routine preventative maintenance functions and assuring work area is clean prior to leaving job site.
  • Maintain department vehicles; wash trucks; check oil, tire pressures, check lights and signals for proper operation.
  • Utilize proper safety precautions related to all work performed.
  • Perform general maintenance duties including change light bulbs; replace ballast; install and repair hardware, light electrical & HVAC also as needed, cleans, adjusts and performs major repairs to swimming pools and auxiliary equipment, lighting and plumbing fixture; perform light carpentry; roof repairs; replace ceiling tile; install and repair hardware; perform minor concrete work and asphalt repair. Maintain and repair facility restrooms; repair and install electrical wiring, switches and outlets, perform interior and exterior painting; repair drywall and tiles; hang sheet rock and apply stucco.
  • Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment.
  • Maintains consistent record of acceptable attendance and punctuality according to policy guidelines.

Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) supplemented by specialized training in one or more of the building/construction trades; or three years of mechanical or structural maintenance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Should have current working knowledge in methods and techniques of general construction, maintenance and repair related to the area of work assigned. Have working experience in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical maintenance repair; perform heavy manual labor; independently perform the most difficult technical tasks; perform wide variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks or working experience in carpentry, painting, welding, and drywall repair; perform heavy manual labor; independently perform the most difficult technical tasks; perform wide variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Arizona driver’s license and good driving record for insurance purposes. If this position has emphasis on plumbing, the employee must have/obtain Backflow Testing Certification in order to retain position.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
