Overview

The Facility Collections Specialist is responsible for the research, collection and/or resolution of an assigned account portfolio in accordance with PharMerica’s Collections Policy and Procedures and the Consumer Credit Protection Act of 1977.
This is a remote position and applicants can reside anywhere in the continental USA.
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM Mountain Time
Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining a portfolio of complex facility accounts that are involved with COD, Forbearance, Bankruptcy, change of ownership and/or are discharged
- Works with customers receiving/making inbound/outbound calls and correspondence
- Works with internal and external customers to resolve assigned portfolio of accounts by collecting the balance due or by taking other action (write-offs, billing to another source or referral to attorney) necessary to resolve account and relieve AR in a timely manner
- Productivity records will also be maintained
- Create reporting to track payment schedules, monitor accounts for compliance and provide monthly status updates to management
- To assist with collection efforts, conducts research as needed
- Understands and adheres to federal collection regulations surrounding Bankruptcies and Forbearances
- Facilitates/Participates in meetings with management, customers and/or account managers to collaborate on collection efforts
- Partner with legal and various levels of the management team, up to the President, in creating payment schedules
- Identifies at-risk accounts and escalates failed payment arrangement to management
- Creates reports utilizing excel to assist in the reconcilement of accounts and/or provide account aging to our legal team
- Works with facilities, receiving in/out bound telephone calls, providing customer service through explaining why they are being billed and following-up on past due accounts using approved collection techniques
- Establish, support, and maintain effective relationships with clients, management, and account support
- Takes initiative to find opportunities and make suggestions for process improvement and ways to better track and collect on accounts
- Works with Facility Collection Manager/Supervisor in researching pharmacy accounts requiring special attention, as indicated on Collection reports, and taking all necessary action to collect money
- Works with Facility Collections Manager/Supervisor and other members of the management team on special projects as needed
- Requires an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of customer accounts, account billing and collection actions
- Relies on experience and judgment to accomplish tasks concerning everyday responsibilities and in developing and maintaining positive and productive relationships with management, co-workers, and customer contacts
- Performs other tasks as assigned

Qualifications
- High School graduate, GED or equivalent experience; two years degree or equivalent experience desired
- Three year billing and/or collections experience
- Excellent oral and written communication and team leadership skills
- Capable and willing to train and/or mentor others
- Familiarity with Bankruptcies, Forbearances, Third Party Billing, or collections/billing experience in the healthcare industry; AS400 computer experience is a plus
- Data entry, strong proficiency with MS Excel and Word and basic computer knowledge
- Medical billing and coding experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication, problem solving, analytical akills, detail orientation, can work individually and within a team
