Title: Facility Coordinator (Part-time)
Pay Range: $18.50-$20.00
JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision of the Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation, performs responsible work in the processing of all facility rentals and calendar of facility use. Works at Parks & Recreation office closely with the Administrative Assistant to handle facility rentals, email communications, website information, scheduling and park maintenance work orders. Communicates with facility monitors for scheduling, rental permits, facility inventory and needs. Assist in all customer service needs with department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Communicates regularly with on-site facility monitors for scheduling, site needs and rental information.
- Take in and review rental inquiries, view facility availability, seek staff availability, follow out rental application process with customer and take care of necessary arrangements if needed.
- Communicate with Park Maintenance staff rental calendar weekly.
- Communication with Renters and assigned Facility Monitor each Thursday for upcoming weekends to confirm information.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Review with the renter the start and completion time as listed on the Facilities Rental Agreement form. Reinforce the completion time – this time is when the building is cleaned and vacated by, no exceptions.
- Be available for the duration of the rental and to provide off hour contact and general support to staff.
- Ensure the renters are aware of all pertinent information.
- Make renter aware they are responsible for garbage/clean up.
- Ensure renters know there is no smoking in the building.
- Answer questions about the building and procedures as needed.
- When necessary, call 911 to enforce control.
- In the event of an accident, preform care and follow all Town of Vernon procedures/protocols
- Understands all responsibilities of facility monitors.
- Knows all facility locations and amenities.
- Adheres to and enforces all Town and departmental policies and procedures.
- Performs related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS
- General knowledge of principles and practices of recreational programming and facility management.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to deal effectively with the community.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Must be flexible, energetic, patient, and empathetic to participants’ needs and interests.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL EFFORT/ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Able to lift light objects up to 20 pounds.
- Able to perform moderately difficult manipulative skills such as writing and typing.
- Able to perform tasks which require hand eye coordination such as demonstrating a specific leisure skill.
- Able to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods.
- Able to hear normal sounds with some background noise.
- Able to concentrate on moderate detail with constant interruption.
- Able to have good computer skills.
- Needs to attend to task/function for 25 – 40 minutes
- Able to remember multiple tasks/assignments given to self and others during the course of the day.
- Exposure to blood, body tissues or fluids, seasonal conditions in outside weather, and to loud or unpleasant noises.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- 18 years of age or older
- Attend mandatory training session in CPR, First Aid, Blood Borne Pathogens and overall departmental policies
- Must be able to work up to 19.5hrs preferably to include Monday through Thursday, 9:00am-1:30pm.
