Pay Range
$104,220.00 – $129,384.00 Annually for the 336.1 level
$126,120.00 – $156,576.00 Annually for the 336.2 level

Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.

Job Description

We have an opening for aFacility Manager I/II to support Weapons and Complex Integration (WCI) managed facilities at Site 200. You will provide highly advanced technical and administrative direction for WCI facility activities and be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of on-site offices, shops, and scientific and research laboratories. You will be responsible for implementing work control in your assigned facilities, managing facility modifications, and maintaining facility safety documentation. This position is in the WCI Directorate.

This position will be filled at either the 336.1 Facility Manager I or 336.2 Facility Manager II level depending on your qualifications. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if selected at the higher level.

You will

  • Provide advanced technical and administrative oversight and coordination of facility activities and systems to ensure functional operation and reliability.
  • Provide oversight and coordination of multiple concurrent tasks and priorities associated with capital, maintenance, and major renovation and refurbishment projects within assigned facilities.
  • Maintain awareness of current and future critical tenant facility infrastructure needs. Anticipate facility infrastructure risks and create and implement plans to mitigate the risks.
  • Assist in the development, review, and implementation of procedures and plans including safety basis documentation, change control forms, Facility Safety Plans, Work Control Documents, roof access plans, and facility project plans.
  • Oversee and evaluate activities performed within the facilities to ensure work is within Facility Safety Basis, as well as Work Planning and Control and Environment Health and Safety principles and practices.
  • Lead regular Management Observations and Inspections (MOI) and walkthroughs, managing facility related deficiencies and issues to closure, report and/or act on results, identify problems, plan projects to solve problems and implement solutions.
  • Provide advanced technical direction to facility coordinators, material coordinators, and craft personnel to complete facility related activities.
  • Develop and implement plans to promote culture, diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional job responsibilities, at the 336.2 level

  • Develop, champion, and manage complex facility repair and modification projects and report progress to senior management.
  • Develop process improvement and strategic facility plans and proposals that align with organizational goals and drivers.
  • Contribute to the development, review, and implementation of facility specific budgetary and cost management plans and provide recommendations for review to management.

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in the appropriate technology or an equivalent combination of education and significant related experience in a relevant engineering or technology field and ability to obtain Facilities Management Certification.
  • High level knowledge and advanced technical skills in the operation and maintenance of HVAC, architectural, and facility utility systems found in office, shop, and laboratory facilities.
  • Significant experience in facility management, facility maintenance, or facility operations and in-depth knowledge of interactions and interdependence of facility related systems and program operations /equipment.
  • Significant experience working independently as well leading teams to accomplish strategic goals.
  • High level knowledge of ES&H policies and procedures as they apply to office, shop, and specialized hazardous facilities.
  • Experience using Mac or PC computer operating systems and related software applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated advanced organizational, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced customer service, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills necessary to interact effectively with co-workers, facility tenants, managers, and service providers.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing plans that promote and value diversity, equity and inclusion principles in the workplace.

Additional qualifications at the 336.3 level

  • Extensive experience in facility management, facility maintenance, or facility operations and advanced level knowledge of interactions and interdependence of facility related systems and Program operations/equipment.
  • Experience leading teams on technical and strategic efforts.
  • Advanced knowledge of the standards, procedures and techniques related to coordination/facilities management and facility budgetary/cost management plans.
  • Facilities Management Certification.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Advanced project management skills.
  • High level knowledge of work control practices at LLNL.
  • Knowledge of WCI Operations facilities.

Security Clearance
