Job Summary
The Facility Specialist II is responsible for custodial efforts and maintaining all physical aspects of the Community Center and/or Curling and Event Center.
The hours for this position includes evenings, weekends, and holidays (as needed). Hours may vary based on organizational needs. The standard schedule includes overnight shifts between 6pm-2am, with days off being Sunday & Monday.
Responsibilities
- Performs or directs all facility cleaning, including, mopping, waxing, and vacuuming floors, washing windows, and sanitizing restrooms and locker rooms.
- Room and event space set-up and take-down.
- Ensures facilities are open and operational at the start of the facility’s hours, including but not limited to, unlocking doors, adjusting lighting, clearing sidewalks. Ensures facilities are checked throughout and ready for lock-up when the facility ends operations for the day; locks doors and secures facility.
- Maintains excellent customer service with patrons and guests, always adhering to safety and Parks & Recreation policies and procedures.
- Cleans each facility area and its equipment, reports needed maintenance or needed contracted repairs to ensure maximum usage.
- Ensures facilities’ outside areas are usable, clean and safe, providing maintenance and repairs as needed, including snow or ice removal
- Back-up for operation of the ice resurfacer
- May assist with training of full- and part-time staff as requested
- Performs all other related duties as requested or assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- 1-2 years of custodial/maintenance experience
Other Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Valid Driver’s License
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Ice resurfacer training helpful
- American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 45 days of hire
