Facility Maintenance Worker/ Laborer
- Makes alterations, repairs and maintains all aspects of campus to include grounds and buildings, various types of machines, and office equipment.
- Assembles, moves, and maintains furnishings across campus.
- Responsible for ensuring HVAC equipment is in good working order by cleaning coils, changing filters as required, adjusting thermostats as needed and other general maintenance.
- Maintains plumbing and lagoon to ensure continuous functionality and DEQ standards are met.
- Performs various landscaping tasks including watering and fertilizing of all shrubs, trees, lawns and plants.
- Cleans and maintains windows, carpets and floors as required or assigned.
- Performs quarterly safety inspections of all locations and monthly inspections of agency vehicles.
- Maintains safety records in a timely manner as required by agency, state and federal funding sources and accreditation authorities. Complete all required forms and maintains same in a manner consistent with requirements.
- Returns phone calls and text messages promptly, check and maintain the To-Do list daily, and check and respond to email daily.
- Provide customer service that is welcoming, engaging, accessible, and with appropriately professional boundaries. Interacts with peers, contractors, and consumers in a respectful, genuine and professional manner.
- Promotes a professional culture amongst staff that is strengths-based, encouraging and positively reinforcing, embracing of continual growth and change, promoting of process-improvements, supporting of staff education, fostering of professionalism amongst staff in regards to consumer/staff interaction, dress code, office space presentation, and promoting collaborative teamwork between personnel within the Fields of Hope campus and other departments of NorthCare.
- Immediately consult with supervisory staff regarding any unusual or critical incidents, including but not limited to any injuries and maintenance concerns or incidents.
- Adheres to all safety protocols required by the state and by North Care.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned by Program Manager, Director and/or Executive Staff.
Qualifications
- Must have knowledge of hand and/or small power tools, equipment, materials and methods used in the building trades and one year of experience in one or more of the building trades.
- Must have the capacity to lift and carry one or more objects weighing at least 65 pounds with or without assistance (mechanical or otherwise).
- Must have ability to move about the facility and grounds freely including use of ladders and stairs for completion of required/assigned work.
- Must have visual and auditory capacity to complete assigned work and safely operate equipment and machinery, which may pose a hazard to other persons while in operation.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must maintain 99% good attendance as a condition of employment.
- Minimum of 1-year maintenance experience preferred.
