POSITION SUMMARY:
The Co-Op will be dedicated to the Real Estate Business Line under the supervision of the Senior Director of Real Estate Development responsible for telecommunications, retail, advertising, and parking. The Business Line reviews project proposals from third parties for compliance with Amtrak’s specifications and then negotiates drafts, manages, and enforces revenue-generating agreements that enable third parties to install, operate and maintain their facilities on Amtrak’s ROW. The COOP will process approved agreements and input information into real estate technology systems (Maximo, Documentum, SAP). This department maximizes the value of Amtrak’s real estate while minimizing potential risk to the company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conducts real estate-related research through assistance from others in the department or personally.
  • Processes, manages, and enforces procedures regarding compliance with Amtrak standards.
  • Assist in performing reviews and other analyses of project proposals for completeness and provability.
  • Provides reporting and statistical analysis to assist with daily operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.
  • Must be actively pursuing a degree in Business, Real Estate, Legal Studies, Accounting, Finance, or Civil Engineering.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office software suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • Must have a 2.8 Minimum GPA or higher

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • High attention to detail and organizational aptitude

COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

The hourly range is $19.50 per hour – $22.10 per hour. Pay is based on factors including school year, program of study, etc. In addition, paid internships include Amtrak rail pass privileges as a part of the experience along with one (1) PTO day per academic year.
