Description
This position is hired through Positive Impacts which is a recruiting and professional staffing agency that provides staffing services to social services, and behavorial health agencies.
As a Family Coach for home visiting services, you will serve families voluntarily seeking preventive or early intervention services in their homes or assisting, with parenting and other family relationships. Family Coaches provide parent support and case management addressing concrete needs, connecting to community resources, and sharing evidence-based practices for developing healthier coping skills and parenting techniques through the Nurturing Parent Curriculum. The primary focus is on promoting healthy families by enhancing parenting to ensure a safe, stable environment for the child/children.

What to expect on a given day as a Home Visiting Services Family Coach:
- You will provide coaching sessions in families’ homes or other community locations using evidence-based, trauma-informed interventions.
- You will address concrete needs and connect families to community resources.
- You will interact/communicate with parents/caregivers in a respectful and supportive manner.
- You will provide parenting education to clients using the Nurturing Skills Curriculum and other resources best suited to the client’s needs.
- Your first priority will be to assess the safety and health of the children.
- You will communicate/collaborate with others (therapists, child welfare workers, medical providers, etc.) for continuity of care.
- You will document interactions, develop case plans, and conduct needs assessments.
You would be a good fit for this position if you:
- Have a bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field required, master’s degree in social work or related field preferred.
- Have a minimum two years of related experience with children and families.
- Have experience working in community based social services.
- Have experience in serving high needs populations.
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Can handle confidential information, administrative details, work independently, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Have a valid driver’s license, have reliable access to an automobile and valid automobile insurance.
- Can develop rapport and work effectively and empathically with assigned clients
Salary Expectations:
- Depending on education and experience, starting at $20 per hour.
