Description
MBCH Children and Family Ministries is seeking a Social Work Case Manager to join our Joplin MO team as a Family Foster Care Specialist!
Our Family Foster Care (FFC) Specialists have a tremendous opportunity to provide life changing services to children and their families within the Missouri child welfare system. Job Summary: The FFC Specialist visits assigned children and their families to determine the family dynamics, then creates permanency plans for each child on their assigned caseload of 12 to 16 children in foster care. Our case managers seeks to provide each child with the best possible permanency path by advocating for the children in Family Support Team Meetings, court proceedings, and providing consistent follow up.
Responsibilities include:
- Visiting children, assessing safety, general appropriateness, and current needs
- Attending all Family Support Team meetings and court hearings, testifying to factual case progress
- Supervising visits between the child and parents, siblings, grandparents
- Providing case management services to children within the Missouri child welfare system
- Addressing identified needs and conducting investigations as appropriate
- Building rapport with parents, actively managing and resolving conflicts
- Documenting all case activity and maintaining data entry in the statewide FACES program

After the six-month assessment period the following benefits begin:
• Employee is eligible for a ½ step merit raise (based on 6-month performance appraisal).
• Employee begins retirement program. On a monthly basis, the agency will put the equivalent of 10% of the employee’s monthly salary into the retirement account. (The 10% is not taken out of the salary.) Fully vested after five years at 20% per year schedule.
• Employee begins accruing 80 hours of vacation time per year.
• Employee begins accruing 80 hours of sick time per year. (Sick time can be carried over from year-to-year and accumulated.)

Requirements
- BSW, or other closely related social services degree required, MSW desired
- Two years of relevant social services case management experience required
- MBCH Children & Family Ministries is a faith-based Christian organization and our best candidates will share our Christian faith & ministry focus and be able to provide a reference from a pastor or other church leader
