Family Support Coordinator; Knox County
Compensation: $40,000.00
Are you interested in a career in social services? Are you new or have experience working in this field? Are you a student or recent graduate seeking experience in mental and behavioral health? This position is a direct, hands on opportunity with great flexibility.
Family Support Coordinators with National Youth Advocate Program work closely with adolescents, youth, and children as well as families and community partners, to provide advocacy and support through behavior health and respite care for individuals with mental and behavioral health diagnoses in the home, community and office setting. Responsibilities may include transportation, participation in community activities, or one on one in home services.

Responsibilities
• Perform all work in a manner consistent with the National Youth Advocate Program’s mission, values, and philosophies.
• Travels as needed, to provide and support the provision of services to, and on behalf of, youth and families in compliance
with organizational, contract, and regulatory requirements.
• Facilitates the transportation for the youth and families in the community, including but not limited to familial visitation,
medical, dental and/or mental health appointments.
• Comply with any and all safety regulations for transportation of youth as established by National Highway Safety
Transportation Board, Ohio State Law, and other federal laws.
• Communicates requests for changes to assigned tasks, including but not limited to, scheduled transportation or visitation
facilitation on behalf of youth and families.
• Ensures the visitation sites are conducive to enhancing the visitation experience for families and children; this includes
having age-appropriate toys and supplies, as well as having a safe and sanitary space to visit.
• Observe and documents visitation proceedings in an objective manner and without bias in accordance with the judicial
system and NYAP guidelines.
• Complete all required documentation for assigned tasks within designated time(s).
• Establishes and maintains strong relationship with foster parents and families of origin.
• Responsible to enforce the NYAP Visitation Agreement & Guidelines to include intervening or terminating the visit when
behaviors violate the NYAP Visitation Agreement & Guidelines.
• Ongoing and timely communication with Case Management staff in regards to any visitation challenges, concerns,
violations and/or if a visit is terminated for any reason.
• Will be expected to complete other tasks that support the daily operations of the case management program.
• Performs other duties as requested.
Minimum Qualifications
• 21 years of age or older.
• Associates Degree, Bachelor’s Degree or enrollment in an accredited Associates or Bachelor’s Program; Preferred, GED or High School Diploma; Required.
• Experience in child welfare; Preferred.
• Daily travel required with the willingness to meet clients on a flexible schedule or during non-traditional hours if needed; Availability for after school hours, evenings and weekends.
• Working, reliable telephone.
• Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
Driving and Vehicle Requirements
- Valid driver’s license

- Good driving record
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability
