POSITION PURPOSE
The Family Worker will work one on one with families to determine needs, set goals and find appropriate resources. The Family Worker is responsible for scheduling home visits, conferences, as well as assisting the director with daily administrative tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform family intakes, actively listen to families to determine needs, crisis intervention, community resource referrals and follow-up with the families in accessing services to determine appropriate needs are being met
- Establish positive relationships with families being served
- Calendar Management to include coordinating all aspects of conferences and home visits, confirming dates and times, and inputting information into the appropriate monthly calendars
- Input all family information into database to insure accurate reports, and maintain accurate and up to date enrollment files on all enrolled families
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Director and manage overall operations and personnel of the center in Director’s absence
- Participate in community outreach and resource sharing events in order to educate and expand knowledge of services within the community
ROLE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- College degree preferred or 5 years’ experience in related field
- Experience working with community and families
- Proficient in MS Office
- Maintain strict confidentiality within the program and exhibit the utmost respect towards family personal information
- Strong Interpersonal skills and patience
- Ability to perform activities which require sustained concentration and attention
- Possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
The physical environment requires the employee to possibly work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure such as hearing protection and rubber gloves.
Acquire and maintain the following certifications:

- CPR/AED/O2/First Aid obtained through the American Red Cross (valid 2 years)
- Requisite OSHA online trainings (valid 1 year unless otherwise noted)
- Mandated Reporter Training (valid 5 years)
- Additional training and development specific to your role as reference in onboarding packet.
