Salary Range – $55,000 – $75,000 / year
PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT
Under the direction of the Farm Seed Business Manager, performs inventory and production functions to maintain accurate inventory and meet production schedules.
SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP
Oversees the daily responsibilities staff that report to the Trumansburg and Mecklenburg locations. Supervises, leads, and develops Operations Manager and Warehouse Workers for those locations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Manages inventory of Northern Farm Seed Locations.
Balances inventory amongst locations to serve immediate needs and maintain appropriate inventory levels. Works with Forage and Turf purchasing managers to project needs and balance supply.
Manages the seed corn production program and relationships with outside processors.
Works with stated location managers to accomplish transfers and manage needs in a timely fashion.
Manages Trumansburg location staff and production from that location.
Initiates and completes work orders.
Oversees maintenance of office, warehouse and vehicles.
Oversees operations of warehouse, seed mixing, and packaging line.
Monitors inventory costs and performs procedures to properly maintain correct costs.
Completes Bill of Ladings.
Verifies and researches inventory discrepancies and ensures corrective transactions are made
Supervises quality control.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Prepares packaging labels, perform rack labeling and retagging.
Performs picking-order packing.
Assists with quality control.
Assists with product packaging.
Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Normally requires a high school diploma, or the equivalent thereof, and 1-3 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of professional communication skills, typing proficiency and Microsoft Office programs.
Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
Must be forklift certified.
Must be able to reach a proficient level in E1 system to complete data entry.
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
