Job Description:
The College of Public Health and Health Professions is seeking a Student Assistant to work up to 20 hours per week in support of Instructional Design and Educational Media and Strategic Communications & Marketing.
Duties include preproduction planning, production, and post-production editing of video and digital media for use in education, marketing, and communications. Preparing equipment, studio space, on-location space for filming, editing instructional and educational media (for example lecture, on-location educational media) and stories and projects (including web, e-newsletter, and social media) used in strategic messages to enhance communications for various internal and external audiences; brainstorming and creating engaging digital content to advance the brand, message, and reputation of the college, academic programs, alumni, students, and faculty; and supporting the studio and on-location videography process. A core component of this position is regular collaboration and project tracking across teams with the instructional design, editorial, marketing, and communication team members.
Preproduction skills: Storyboarding and scripting processes for the development of digital media.
Videography and Film Production skills: Cameras and camerawork related to the production of digital media.
Postproduction skills: Timeline video editing.
Distribution skills: Uploading and managing links to media to facilitate distribution based on the identified audience, style, and visual assets.
Collaboration skills: Collaborating with team members, accomplishing assigned duties, and seeking clarification when there are multiple competing priorities related to content and video strategy and implementation.
Expected Salary:
$12.00 – $15.00 hourly; commensurate within this range based on qualifications and experience.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be a registered UF student.
The department will consider Federal Work Study if registered as a UF Student with appropriate documentation (FWS Award).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Entry level videography skills.
- Appropriate written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work appropriately and professionally in a complex academic and business setting using skills related to initiative, professionalism, flexibility, and growth mindset.
- Experience with Adobe editing tools.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Ability to work in a team.
