FIC Rates Chapter Leader, Vice President – IT (Information Technology) – New York, United States

Base Salary Range: $81,000 – $260,000
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.

The role of Senior Business Analyst as Lead Chapter within GBSU/FFC Amer RATES perimeter encompasses the following responsibilities:
• Master the whole GBSU/FFC and FRM IT Roadmap for the MARK/FIC/RATES Amer perimeter by working in close collaboration with Feature Team Scrum Masters and the Product Owner
• Master Production Incidents with Major Business Impacts, to help identify corrective solutions and adjust Development capacity if needed to prioritize production stabilization
• Organize the IT activities in such way that GBSU FFC and FRM teams act as one force facing the Product Owner
• Ensure that items requiring external teams and other regions are well tracked and prioritized
More generally, the candidate will have to:
• Demonstrate an informed knowledge of a several business areas and across assets to resolve problems on an ongoing basis
• Be responsible for the collection, analysis, and documentation of a client’s business requirements
• Establish relationship with business partners to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.
• Understand client’s priorities of projects and requests. Assesses client needs utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analysing, documenting, and managing changes) to prioritize immediate business needs and recommends options, risks, and cost vs. benefits
• Presents status of projects to the clients, propose arbitration, and secures funding for projects
• Foster innovation within the team
• Provide expertise and challenges the business, where necessary, on projects and requirements
• Develop, write, and communicate business requirements for the implementation of business solutions. Procure technical assistance to help in problem resolution.
• Work closely with developers to clarify requirements, and ensure development is done according to requirement
• Help to maintain priorities of tasks for the teams, and organizes sprints
• Investigate, resolve, and escalate production problems
• Conduct feasibility studies and drafts proposals for evaluation by appropriate users and managers. Develop and assist in the presentation of business cases.
• Work closely with several teams across technology and operations to complete project needs
• Support and participate in the formal reporting of project status

Profile required

Technical Skills –
• Excel, Word, Microsoft Power Point, Visio
• Project management tools or Microsoft Project Manager
• Agile development methodology and Software development lifecycle expertise
• XML, VBA, SQL, Source control tools
• Ability to read and interpret log files
Desired / Plus:
• Previous development experience (Java/C#/C++)
• Knowledge on messaging technologies, network protocols
• Solid understanding of systems integration concepts
Competencies –
• Proven expertise as business analyst in a similar environment
• Confident familiarity with security valuation, product PnL and Risk
• Advanced skills in interfacing with business clients (front office, middle office) to comprehend and document business requirements and their priority as well as develop technical or user process solutions
• Advanced skills in interfacing with teams of developers, solid familiarity with major SDLC approaches (accent on Agile methods family)
• Excellent communication and written skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, commitments, and projects
• Rigorous and structured, dynamic, detail oriented, fast learning capacity and able to make decision in a high-pressure environment
• In-depth knowledge of the Business area the position is focused on (Interest Rate derivative, Fixed Income, Equity Derivatives, Cash equity, commodities, Futures and associated markets)
• Knowledge of regulations e.g. Dodd Frank, Volcker, TRACE
