The Position
The Field Ambassador assists with the usage and oversight at multiple athletic fields and parks thought the City. The Field Ambassador works to ensure that the field allocations, park reservations and facility rules and polices are followed. The Field Ambassador assists with providing conflict resolution and provides customer service to park and field users. The Field Ambassador also assists with field related projects.
This is a part time contract position and incumbents are limited to working a maximum of 999 hours per year. Field Ambassadors are required to work weekends and evenings.
Examples of Important & Essential Duties (included but not limited to)
Essential Duties of the Recreation Leader:(These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
- Maintain records on assigned activities or services;
- Direct the program use and care of assigned facilities and equipment for program;
- Work with community groups and organizations;
- Use of City vehicles to run errands including picking up program and event supplies, etc.
Knowledge of:
- Customer service principles;
- Instructional techniques;
- Basic mathematical and reading concepts;
- Record keeping;
- Computer programs related to area of assignment;
- Photographic equipment use;
- English language, grammar, and punctuation;
- Laws and regulations in driving a vehicle.
Skills in:
- Providing customer service;
- Using computers and related software applications;
- Performing routine mathematical calculations;
- Working with money;
- Reading;
- Using cameras and other photographic equipment;
- Record keeping;
- Performing multiple tasks simultaneously;
- Driving a vehicle;

Minimum Qualifications
Training and Experience (position requirements at entry):
At least 18 years of age plus two years of increasingly responsible recreational activities and services experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Experience in the specific area of assignment is desirable
