Position Summary
The Finance Analyst is responsible for the operational aspects of Redwood’s Business Purpose Lending warehouse and structured finance initiatives including:
- Overseeing the management of the Company’s credit facilities, ensuring sufficient liquidity and optimizing balance sheet leverage
- Analyzing and interpreting the impact on various funding strategies (warehouse facilities, loan sales, and ABS securitizations) while working in the context of broader corporate goals
- Supporting the development and maintenance of financial models, tools, and databases to support structured finance activities
- Proactively contributing to the development of new business analysis, strategic initiatives, transaction financings, and growth opportunities
This role partners with the Business Purpose Lending operations group, capital markets group and financial planning group to ensure seamless execution of transaction settlements. This position works closely with third party vendors including investment banks, warehouse lenders and custodians..
Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist in the management of whole loan warehouse financing with several counterparties. Maintain strong relationships with counterparties including repo providers, custodians and broker dealers
- Oversee the whole loan financing process including handling day-to-day fundings, understanding facility structures and monitoring compliance with covenants
- Prepares presentation materials for executive meetings, ensuring they are clear, concise, and impactful
- Provides backup to other analysts for cash management, daily securities settlements and derivative settlements
- Performs a variety of functions within the Treasury group including ad hoc analysis and special projects as requested
- Proactively contributes to the development of strategic initiatives, transaction financings, and growth opportunities
- Stay informed about industry trends, market research, and best practices in treasury to contribute to the overall growth and success of the organization
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field
- Knowledge of warehouse lines, fixed income and/or mortgage securitization helpful
- Strong analytical capabilities and problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a high-paced, fluid environment
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office applications. Proficiencies with Excel
- Self-starter who takes initiative and can be a part of a team
- Detail oriented and the ability to strive for excellence in their work
- Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing deadlines and priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow within the organization
A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this role is $75K – 90K annually. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors.
