Description
This is a full-time exempt position. This Desk Estimator is responsible for writing, negotiating, and approval of Full Scope estimates for small to medium sized Emergency Services (ES) and General Construction (GS) opportunities. The estimators primary responsibilities are to scope loses, create estimates, and gain final estimate approval using information provided by personnel conducting job site inspections. This position will utilize appropriate estimating software while collaborating and coordinating with appropriate stakeholders. This is an in-office position with a concentration on small estimates generally below $10,000 by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR DESK ESTIMATOR:
Core duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Meet all service standards set forth by Jenkins Restorations (JR), Third Party Administrators (TPAs), Insurance Carriers, Adjusters, and/or other appropriate stakeholders.
- Access, review, and utilize job site information and documentation uploaded in JR internal systems by appropriate On-Site inspectors.
- Estimate each loss using 3rd party estimating software Xactimate, Symbility, or other appropriate software as required.
- Utilize Quality Control review software per current instructions for estimate accuracy.
- Submit complete estimates for approval within 24 hours of onsite inspection documentation upload.
- Interface with Clients, Project Managers, Insurance Adjusters, and other appropriate stakeholders throughout the estimating process.
- Notify appropriate Project Manager within 4 hours of final estimate approval.
- Assist Project Management team by producing supplements on written estimates as needed.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Find and develop new sub-contractor relationships as necessary
- Train new and existing technician team
- Conduct sales and marketing efforts in branch market to generate new leads and relationships

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED required. Associates degree (A.A or A.S) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; Six months to one-year related industry experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with writing estimates in Xactimate, Symbility, and/or appropriate 3rd party estimating software.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Demonstrate the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Possess the ability to speak effectively to customers and/or employees of the organization.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be familiar with software like Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.). Preferred experience with 3rd Party Estimating Software (Xactimate, Symbility, Etc.)
REASONING ABILITY:
Possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
