About the Role
nLIGHT is looking for a junior/mid-level Financial Analyst to support the Defense portion of our business. This is a high growth opportunity within a collaborative and driven finance organziation. Our ideal candidate will have general finance reporting experience and a strong desire to gain experience in the defense market.
This position will regularly work with all levels of the organization and will require someone with high personal and professional values, strong leadership skills, and a desire to learn and grow with the company. Our successful candidate enjoys new challenges, investigating root cause of issues, streamlining work, identifying areas for improvement, and following through to drive changes.
Your Responsibilities
- Forecasting – Working with engineering management, update forecasts for development projects, customer engagements, and related capital/working capital requirements. This includes documenting assumptions, providing variance analysis, and identifying opportunities and risks for managerial review
- Budget Management – Analyze spending and approve requests to aid in project execution and budget management. Provide recommendations to improve profitability and performance, including modeling scenarios to support business decisions
- Financial Reporting – Prepare and review reporting packages for accuracy and to provide additional insight to help teams run their operations more effectively
- Reporting Development – Create dashboards and other automated reporting to provide visibility to leaders and decision makers
- Government Reporting – Optimize new Earned-Value Project Management system to support government reporting and forecast accuracy
- Compliance Support – Support processes and workflows designed to ensure compliance
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounting or finance organization
- Understanding of US GAAP and financial statements
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
nLIGHT is proud to offer comprehensive COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Salary, level based on experience, education, and skills:
- Financial Analyst I: $65,500 – $78,000
- Financial Analyst II: $76,000 – $85,000
Other Compensation and Benefits:
- Target Cash Bonus of 5% of your wages
