Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general supervision of the Director of Economic Empowerment Programs, the Financial Coach will be a part of RiseBoros client-centered coaching program model that prioritizes the personal financial goals and objectives of each client served. The Financial Coach works collaboratively with program staff to engage clients in financial coaching for short-term solutions and/or establishing long-term economic mobility. Specific duties and responsibilities include:
- Work collaboratively with Case Managers, Career Counselors, and other internal partners to establish and achieve financial goals with clients
- Provide a minimum of twenty (20) meetings per week for education on personal finance management topics that will help clients gain financial security and meet their financial goals i.e. topics on budgeting, banking, establishing/improving credit, reducing debt, increasing assets/savings, lowering financial transaction costs, etc.
- Record client information and meeting progress data precisely, accurately, and on time in designated case management tracking software
- Host and facilitate financial coaching workshops for client groups
- Work with clients individually in 1-on-1 meetings to provide more individualized financial planning support
- Engage and encourage clients through coaching sessions to participate in ongoing services and to attend follow-up meetings with the financial coaches and other partners
- Work with the Director of Economic Empowerment Programs to spread financial literacy and financial coaching services to staff, as needed
- Remain up-to-date on related, supportive resources to refer clients for additional assistance; seek referrals where gaps in services exist
- Adapt approach to coaching depending on the need of the program, working with Director to find engaging, sustainable ways to draw in more clients
- Other related duties as assigned by the Director
COMPETENCIES
- Demonstrated professional experience in financial management or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in leading projects, organizing group meetings, and facilitating/leading group instruction

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and applicable programs/software, particularly Google Docs and MS Excel

EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business management, social services, human services, or related field required with a minimum of one (1) year of related work experience preferred
- Associate degree with a minimum of two (2) years of experience managing client personal finances or related work experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of five (5) years of experience managing client personal finances or related work experience
- Any combination equivalent to education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills may be considered qualifying
