Description
The Large Market Account Executive is the lead point of contact for an assigned book of business that includes t HealthPlan commercial clients with 200 or more eligible contracts. The Large Market Account Executive manages the renewal process, plans and conducts meetings with the client, reviews financial and utilization reporting with the client makes recommendations for future medical plan design changes and cross-sells other UPMC Insurance Services Division products and services. The Large Market Account Executive is responsible for maintaining the client relationship, development and execution of a strategic plan for his/her book of business, client satisfaction, and client retention.
- Achieve growth through increased membership in accounts that offer UPMC Health Plan as an option, and cross sell other UPMC Insurance Services Division products and services.
- Manage the client renewal process including review of alternative plan designs, conducting client meetings, and delivering employee open enrollment presentations, as needed. Also, ensure that schedules of benefits are correct and ID cards are released in time for members to receive them prior to the effective date of coverage.
- Serve as a consultant to the client by analyzing utilization reports and working with the Clinical and Wellness account managers to identify areas of opportunity. Meet metrics under the Reach for Excellence program on a consistent basis.
- Support the mission of the Health Plan’s senior leadership.
- Develop and execute a strategic plan for the assigned book of business.
- Maintain up-to-date information on the book of business via the IKA group summary and AIM document.
- Provide timely and accurate weekly activity and other reports as required by the director.
- Work in conjunction with the service consultants to ensure day to day issues are resolved.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with internal staff.
- Keep up to date with UPMC Insurance Services Division product knowledge as well as legislation that impacts our business.
- Work effectively with the sales executive during the pre-sale process to ensure proper transition and new clientimplementation.
- Follow through on all client requests in a timely fashion.
- Exercise good judgment in regard to alerting management of service and renewal issues that could negatively impactclient retention.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Master’s degree preferred
- 3-5 years of a successful group medical insurance sales and/or account management experience is required. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain credibility in the marketplace
- Excellent organization and analytical skills. Ability to multi-task and work within a team environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Powerpoint, and Excel Ability to work with and take direction from Senior Management.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
PA Health and Accident License required within 90 days of hire.
