The anticipated salary range for this role is between $79,000.00 and $120,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description
We are seeking an associate position in BHC’s FAD Controllers – Financial Accounting Control department who will be responsible to maintain and monitor the day to day accounting operations, consolidation process, maintenance and control of the BHC General Ledger and the shadow general ledgers of the BHC’s subsidiaries and preparing financial statements for the BHC at year-end.
Role Objectives
- Review day-to-day operations of the shadow General Ledgers of the BHC’s subsidiaries and the BHC General Ledger
- Prepare analytical review of the monthly and quarterly variances in the BHC’s Balance Sheet and Income Statement
- Collect the intercompany transaction templates from the BHC subsidiaries, review and investigate the breaks with BHC subsidiaries’ accounting teams
- Prepare year-end consolidated financial statements and footnotes for the BHC
- Communicate with the subsidiaries for any accounting and reporting issues
- Responsible for internal or external auditors’ requests
- Maintain and update internal control documentation to ensure the controls are operate effectively
- Assist in any ad hoc projects and requests
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 4 to 6 years of experience in financial services sector, financial institutions or public accounting experience is preferrable
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications – Excel, Word, Access and Visio
- Experience with Oracle Cloud or any other GL applications
- Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively and independently
- Detail oriented and well organized
- Ability to multiple tasks and work with shifting priorities
