GET TO KNOW THE ROLE

The Food Runner plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant. You will be responsible for coordinating the timely and accurate delivery of dishes from the kitchen to the appropriate tables, ensuring a high level of service and guest satisfaction.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Exemplifies MCR’s values and set a great example by always demonstrating excellent guest service and professionalism.
  • Practice, support and promote the mission, vision, and values of Muckleshoot Casino Resort.
  • Ensure that each dish is presented beautifully and adheres to the restaurant’s plating and presentation standards before taking it to the table.
  • Verify the order details to ensure that the correct dishes are being delivered to the right tables. Notify the kitchen of any discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure that dishes are delivered to the dining area promptly while still hot.
  • Assist in setting up tables before service and resetting them after guests have finished their meals. This includes placing flatware, glassware, and any necessary condiments. or at the appropriate temperature.
  • Interact with servers and other front-of-house staff to understand the status of each table, including when to deliver courses and clear plates.
  • Prompt delivery of food from kitchen to guest in a professional manner and in accordance with service standards.
  • Comply with food safety and hygiene guidelines to ensure the safe and sanitary handling of food and tableware.
  • Assist food servers and bussers by clearing used dishes and refilling beverages.
  • Perform side-work, and any other opening or closing duties as required. Ensures that wait staff stations and expediting areas are clean and maintained throughout shift.
  • Collaborate with other members of the restaurant staff, including servers, hosts/hostesses, and kitchen personnel, to provide a seamless and enjoyable dining experience for guests.
  • Communicate any additional requests from guests to the food server immediately.
  • Create, maintains, and facilitates a positive work environment; promotes positive team member relations and reports issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Ability to obtain a Class III B gaming license.
  • Previous experience in a similar role in fine dining or upscale restaurants is preferred but not always required.
  • Food service experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience and/or training preferred.
  • A valid WA State Food Health Card/Food Handlers Permit required.
  • A valid WA State Class 12 Alcohol Permit required.

HOW YOU’LL BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Knowledge of fine dining service standards, including table settings and proper etiquette.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift trays or dishes.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Familiarity with the menu and the ability to answer guest questions about dishes.
  • Ability to follow specific instructions, both oral and written.
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to provide excellent guest service.
  • Ability to work various shifts.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Availability – Ability to work different shifts, holidays, weekends, and nights to support a 24/7 operation.
  • Physical – Ability to maneuver in all areas of casino, ascent/descent from stairs, frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, and/or prolonged periods of time focusing on tasks. Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. May regularly need to lift/ move, push or pull up material or boxes necessary to the job function, with or without assistance.
  • Environment – Exposure to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) while working and traversing on the gaming floor.
