POSITION SUMMARY
The Finishing Project Sales Engineer is responsible for the provision of technical and commercial support and assistance for Surface Finishing Solutions to the field sales force and distribution network to acquire sales and develop profitable business. Responsible to support activities with discovery, customer interaction, proposals and drawings of production lines and factory layouts, as well as drive surface finishing projects forward. Capitalize on business opportunities with customers who can benefit from assistance with various types of equipment and services offered by Stiles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Assist with the sale of projects; develop solutions; put together proposals for production solutions for project sales and present/sell solutions as part of the surface finishing team
• Work with supplier partners and build relationships with our high technology solution providers.
• Develop solutions along with the engineering teams of our supplier partners in order to create an opportunity for sale and ultimately our customer’s success.
• Develop proposals and pricing strategies (with the assistance of the Product Manager) for solutions assuring appropriate levels of profitability are obtained/maintained.
• Provide support for after sales projects and project implementation and management
• Propose equipment and/or services to customers.
• Identify opportunities to sell new equipment or services by noting deficiencies in existing customer production systems.
• Provide project engineering support for trade shows, layouts, facility data, scheduling, etc.
• Visit installation sites to analyze conditions relative to project installation.
• Work with sales force and suppliers to develop market specific solutions for industry specific applications.
• Recommend market research initiatives, monitor competitive activity and keep sales management, key suppliers and field sales force current on market opportunities and competitive situations.
• Perform cost justification (ROI) for machines, software and services.
• Develop business relationships with industry organizations, customers and suppliers in an effort to continually position the organization to maintain a competitive advantage.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree (four year college or university) and/or 3 plus years related experience
SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Effective presentation skills
• AutoCad
• Understanding of American and Metric measurements.
• Knowledge of panel processing/furniture/cabinet production, particularly focused on surface treatment and finishing

Starting pay range $50,000-$75,000 plus commission
