Volt is immediately hiring for a Firmware Engineer in San Diego, CA.
As a Firmware Engineer, you will:
- Develop Products for gathering data
- Work with Robotics for water exploration and providing weather, map data and information for instruments
- Utilize custom C embedded language for low-level processors and devices
- Work with microdevices, sensors and board level hardware (board bring-up) for low level software development
- Build new upgrades for products for integration and installations
This is a Fulltime, Direct Hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in embedded software design and development in C.
- Thorough knowledge of embedded development from low-level board bring-up, processor, and device interfaces through higher-level data structures, algorithms, design patterns and architecture are required for this position.
- Experience integrating network stacks and file systems into firmware.
- Knowledge of Real-Time Operating System concepts.
- Thorough knowledge of multi-threaded application development.
- Experience working with STM32 series or micro-controllers from ST Micro is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of signal processing and DSP algorithms. Sonar or radar experience is a strong plus.
Salary: $89,100 – $149,600 per year
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate’s education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
