Ampere is looking for a Firmware Engineer-DDR to join our team. ARM firmware development work at Ampere is interesting, challenging, and will expand your professional breadth. Working in this area brings out the best engineering in people and produce products that have value in the market. The ARM server firmware/software is relatively new and you will have the opportunity to invent new software technology and influence the ARM server community.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and develop DDR Firmware for 64-bit ARMv8 SoC processors
- Work with HW design teams and bring up Pre-Silicon software support on HW models
- Post-silicon bring up of DDR
- Troubleshoot and debug complex problems
What You’ll Bring:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience with C programming
- Minimum 4 years of previous experience with DDR Firmware development
- Experience with 32-bit/64-bit ARMv8 processors is a plus
- Experience with Firmware/BIOS/Linux software development
- Familiarity with JEDEC specs
- Familiarity with NVDIMM or persistent memory a plus
- Familiarity with ACPI specifications
- Familiarity with Non-uniform Memory Access (NUMA) with heterogenous memory configurations would be considered a plus
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis. Proven ability to own problems through resolution
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Good communications skills, both verbal and written
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related technical field

Pay and Benefits
Ampere offers a competitive total rewards package that includes base pay, bonus, stock, and comprehensive benefits. The full base pay range for this role is between $129,000 and $215,000, except in the San Francisco Bay Area where the range is between $143,000 and $238,000. We also offer an annual bonus program tied to internal company goals and annual meritocratic stock awards that enable our employees to participate in the success of the company.
